Mindfulness, Movement & Meditation

With Helen Stephenson, Saturday 16th August 2 to 4pm

20 British pounds
Cowper & Newton Museum Gardens, Market Place, Olney

What to expect

Tuning into the sound of birdsong, taking in the colours and scents of blooming flowers—these simple pleasures awaken our senses and draw us into the richness of the present moment. This is especially true in the serene garden of the Cowper Museum, where nature’s beauty invites quiet reflection. As Henry Miller once wrote, “The moment one gives attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribable magnificent world in itself.” Mindfulness helps us return to this awareness, grounding us in the now. Too often, our minds drift toward future plans or past regrets, pulling us away from the life unfolding before us. But by gently paying attention to our bodies and thoughts, we can make more nourishing choices—for ourselves and in how we relate to others. In doing so, our everyday experiences become more vibrant, meaningful, and joyful. In this session, we’ll explore a variety of mindfulness techniques that are accessible and beneficial for everyone. For all ages, all levels and all abilities.
