Pottery - Clay & Connection - Clay & Calm

Kateryna is the founder of KeKo Club Pottery Studio in Newport Pagnell, a community pottery space built around creativity, confidence and connection.

Her own relationship with clay began during a difficult period in her life, when making became a way to slow down, focus on something tangible and gradually reconnect with herself. That experience shaped the philosophy behind KeKo Club.

Kat believes that creativity is not reserved for people who consider themselves artistic. Sometimes simply putting your hands into clay, concentrating on the next small step and allowing yourself permission to make something imperfect can be incredibly powerful.

At KeKo Club, the emphasis is as much on the experience as the finished piece. The studio is designed to be welcoming, relaxed and supportive, whether someone is touching clay for the very first time or developing an existing pottery practice.

Kat teaches wheel throwing and hand-building and runs courses, workshops, family sessions, youth activities and community projects. Her approach is encouraging and practical, helping people explore their own ideas rather than feeling they have to produce something perfect.

Through the collaboration with Nook by Nature, Kat will be bringing Clay & Connection — a six-week creative wellbeing journey using clay — alongside one-off Clay & Calm sessions designed to give people time to slow down, make with their hands and enjoy being creative in good company.

At the heart of KeKo Club is a simple idea: creativity can build confidence, and making alongside other people can create a genuine sense of belonging.
